Nowruz Journal is a periodical of Persian arts and letters that seeks to create a borderless realm of artistic and cultural expression. We are committed to amplifying Persian and Persian-identifed voices from around the world, and are open to works of fiction, essay, poetry, translation, visual art, and more.

Founder and Editor-in-Chief

Mandana Chaffa is a writer, editor and critic whose work has appeared in a variety of publications and anthologies. She founded and is the editor-in-chief of Nowruz Journal, a digital periodical of Persian arts and letters, which was a finalist for the Community of Literary Magazines and Presses’s Firecracker Award for Best Magazine: Debut and is an editor-at-large at Chicago Review of Books. She serves on the board of the National Book Critics Circle, where she is Vice President of the Barrios Book in Translation Prize, and is president of the board of The Flow Chart Foundation. Born in Tehran, Iran, she lives in New York.

DESIGNER

T. De Los Reyes is the author of the chapbook Woeman. A finalist for the 2021 Sappho Prize by Palette Poetry, her poems have also appeared or are forthcoming in Five South, Birdcoat Quarterly, Crazyhorse, Hobart After Dark, Pleiades, among others. She is also the founder and curator of Read A Little Poetry, owner of Possibilities Studio, and the designer of Nowruz Journal. She lives and writes in Manila, Philippines.
