“she was showing me the way home, / teaching me how to stretch self across space”
Diaspora Ocean
by Tina Ehsanipour
I used to be afraid of the ocean,
how it had no beginning or end,
how it held so much I couldn’t see
Until I realized
she was showing me the way home,
teaching me how to stretch self across space
and refuse to be bound by land
